I've been hearing this on the radio all today about the americans wanting/going to test weapons along the great lakes..
its their coast guard i guess...

i live along lake ontario.. and i really dont' like the idea of them testing weapons all willy nilly along the lakes..
what do you think? should we put a stop to them..? or just let them do what they want?

they're going to do what they want anyways right?

The "weapons" they are testing are new guns and they are testing the bullest. I think you are confusing people. Some people may think you mean explosives or nuclear weapons testing, or missiles.

They are testing the guns from coast guard boats on the AMERICAN side of the lake, NOT the Canadian. Canada cannot stop them from doing this. It's THERE own land and they may do with it what they like. Since they are only rounds of bullets and ammuition, the most it will do is cause a tiny fraction of pollution in the lake from the shells. It's not as bad as all that industry in Toronto dumping all sorts into the lake. Same on the American side. They will not be testing any of these "weapons" near Canada.

Please take out a map and review your geography. The great lakes are shared by both Canada and the United States. The boundry of the United States and Canada usually runs right through the middle. It's no different then them testing weapons in Washington State, right near British Columbia. The water is there own water not Canada's, just as the land of Washington state is America's and not Canada's.

UPDATE: I did look at some of your other questions. You seem very anti American, and you don't seem to like the United States at all. You should respect your neighbor to the south. I know I do. I live in Canada and I love the United States. The question you asked about 9/11 really got to me, especially because I lost my cousin who was a Canadian citizen on september 11th. There were many Canadians killed on 9/11 too. You said in the question that it happens every day and Americans should suck it up. Well North America (Canada, USA) are stable and free nations with a high quality of living. Unlike those other countries it is not common to be attacked. And countries do not have 100 story high skyscrapers falling down after planes were hijacked and smashed into them, happening every day. That my friend, does not happen every day.

I'm sure you won't like this, but it's just my opinion and I'm trying to give you the honest facts. Please be more open to the United States, and be aware that it isn't all that bad there.

- Hope this helps :-)
- Have a nice day :-)

what weapons, dear? the US and Canada de-militarized the Lakes a century ago...and the US Coast Guard doesn't have any major weapons aboard; the deep sea cutters have a 75 mm cannon, but they are rarely on the Lakes.....the small craft may test fire a few burst from their machine guns..like a 2 second burst...but guess what? Canadian Forces and the OPP and the RCMP do the same thing.....calm down.......the only weapons tests likely to go on over Canada are North Korean rockets

its a pretty good question.....america is not only testing weapons but is also using them.......Remember who used the atomic bomb?? Now it has problems if others wish to have that technology! America should first destroy all its weapons then tell others not to make them!!
