Consequently we were speeding to the hospital due to complications with the pregnancy and was previously diagnosed by our physician with a low lying previa which caused internal/external bleeding. To make a long story short, the officer stopped me and inquire that I was speeding 15 miles over the speed limit but less than 25. I communicated to him that my wife and I was traveling to the hospital due to bleeding and he asked me for my drivers license ( I have a clean record), went back to his car and said" be careful" without issuing us a formal ticket. Three months later, I recieved a summons in mail stating that I have a October 19th hearing for speeding...Whats my chances on beating this ticket?

I totally agree with the first answer here. If you have proof from the hospital what was going on, then it wouldn't be much of a case.

You need to have all your Hospital related records on hand to prove your claims. If you want a snow ball's chance in hell, you'll need them.

Thats no guarantee you'll beat the ticket, but depending on the Judge and his or her mood, it certainly puts the odds a little more in your favor.

Last tip - don't show anger and disguise any disgruntlement you have with the officer. He was doing his duty after all.

Good - but only if you produce signed and dated documents and statements from your doctor and the hospital which prove that everything you said was true. Unfortunately, many people use pregnancy issues as classic excuses for speeding so the courts will need that extra proof from you to believe it.

that's not unlawful to maintain on with him, whether it extremely is against the regulation to be rushing and that throughout all probability is going for the cop too. they don't look to be exempt. On a component observe, its extremely exciting to maintain on with a cop on the interstate by way of fact every physique sees him coming and slows into the properly suited lane. Then if ur following the cop you may whiz precise by using (No Slowpokes). you may make stable time from Memphis to Nashville following a cop at 80 5-ninety mph.

Probably pretty good but I would recommend getting a lawyer. Also be sure and get a doctor's report/note/medical papers for the hearing.

Good, plus, things get dropped if the officer doesn't show up- sounds like a ppwk thing. You probably just need to clear it up.
