I am writing a book about my Traumatic Brain Injury that I suffered while at the US Naval Academy? And, I want to know what would most interest perspective readers. I have 16 years of experience since the accident.

It was a dark & stormy night...oh...sorry that almost has to be fiction...almost..

I would suggest taking writing seminars in non-fiction literature. Also, reading books from the genre you are looking to enter would be a good idea. For instance, with all the veterans coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan, some have written books on post traumatic stress disorder and TBI. Also, there are a lot of articles that discuss TBI. These might be some helpful resources to help you in your writing.

Start out with the event itself to draw readers in. Then go back and fill in relevant details about events leading up to it and what happened afterwards, the consequences. End up by telling how things stand now and if any future progress is expected.

Take pen to paper and start writing. Target your book to a specific audience.

find out if your local community college or other university offers writing classes to get you started. also it will help you network to hook up with other writers and publishers.
