I am a registered home daycare provider. Check the local department of human services site for your state. I am sure you can find it online. I am in iowa and our limit is 6. I am a registered catagory B which means that i can watch up to 12 kids at a time with a assistant. I also am on the Child Food program which reimburses me for food. I also recieve grants each year and do several training hours which ensures this. I would think about becoming registered it might help you out in the long run.. I hope this helps. Check to see if you have a childcare resource and refferal in your area they might be able to answer your questions more in detail.

I am not sure the numbers state by state but yes there is a certain number of children. In Illinois you can watch 3 including your own if you are unlicenced. If you have your licence the number is higher. There are many web sites that can answer all of your questions. You should look into it quickly because I am pretty sure 8 is to high of a number and you do want to be safe both legally and for the children.

You may want to check with the people that monitor daycares...the daycare that my child is in only lets her have 3 children under 3 and so many children at a time...and it is about 6. You can have a family daycare registered for safety...you may want to do more research

The number is 6 including your own children. If a kid gets hurt while you are watching all 7 at the sametime you will be sued, fined and Social services will get involved for neglect and child endangerment. Possible court issues.

Each state is different and the student to teach ratio is different for age groups as well. I would contact your Board of Health i would think to find this out or atleast be pointed in the right direction. They could probably also help you find out where to get licensed and such.Or check your local library!

My state has a website for the department of children and family services. They list the rules for that sort of thing, or at least for registered day care providers.

First off are you a licensed daycare provider. If not the question is mute. If you are you can contact your car and home insurance provider with your question and they should be able to help you.
