It is normal for breast tenderness, and it will take couple months before they actually help prevent pregnancy. I am sure your doctor told you to use a back-up meathod as well. Because NO birth control is 100% and you could get pregnant still. I have three children, and 2 or them are statistics...meaning....I was on different birth controls and still got pregnant. One I had an IUD in and 8 months later i got pregnant, and my third I was on birth control pills and after a year got pregnant....Please be careful and smart...Good Luck !!!!

All of your symptoms are normal. BC takes a while to get used to the body and if this is your first time taking it then you need to give it at least 2 cycles or 2 months to fully work out all the kinks.
But, do keep in mind......If you are on the second month and you are still have inconsistencies in your schedule and by the 3 month you are still noticing that the LO is not regulating your period, you must go back and see your doctor. I was on the low for 3 years and then one year I was never on time. Sometimes I was getting it twice a month sometimes a week late sometimes even 2-3 weeks late. If this is happening then you need a stronger dosage of BC. The LO provides very little estrogen and other meds and the estrogen is what helps it regulate your period. Just keep it in mind.

It is normal to have breast tenderness. The first couple of months you could be late starting... but soon your body will get used to the pill and your period will begin when you take the hormone-free sugar pill that ends your month... In fact, mine would begin within 12 hours of the placebo hormone free pill.

I REALLY DON'T WANT TO SCARE YOU, BUT I WAS ON THE PILL WHEN I GOT PREGNANT -- BOTH TIMES!!! AND THE "GIVE-AWAY" WAS TENDERNESS IN MY BREASTS THAT MADE IT DIFFICULT TO EVEN WALK.
AND YES, BEFORE SOMEONE ASKS, I TOOK THEM CORRECTLY, EVERY DAY, SAME TIME EVERY DAY, ETC. AND NO, I HADN'T BEEN ON ANTIBIOTICS OR ANYTHING ELSE TO WEAKEN THEM. I GUESS THE GOOD LORD DECIDED IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO MAKE SOME CHANGES IN MY LIFE.
BIRTH CONTROL PILLS TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO GET INTO YOUR SYSTEM, WHICH YOUR DOCTOR SHOULD HAVE INFORMED YOU OF, SO I'M WONDERING IF YOU WERE USING ANY OTHER TYPE OF PROTECTION? IT DOESN'T REALLY SOUND LIKE IT. SO WITH THAT, I WOULD DEFINITELY CHECK WITH MY DOCTOR IF I DIDN'T GET MY PERIOD WITHIN THE WEEK. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

Define late.
On the pill, I don't start until the 3rd night or 4th day of the placebos. And breast tenderness isn't abnormal. It's about how your body reacts to the hormones.

it can take up to a month for your birth control pill to start to work. Hopefully you used another form of B-control during this month. If not... there is a chance that you could be pregnant.
Wait 3 more days and take a home preg test.
Good luck!
