We lived in Penticton from 1993 -1998. The cost of a home is rising all the time but if you go to mls.ca, click on B.C., then Okanagan area, you will have the listings and prices you need. Penticton caters to old people and tourists. The relatively mild winters draw seniors although the summers can be long and hot. Work varies on experience you have but as far as huge employers, not so many. Has local bus service , you are about a 5 hour drive to Vancouver.3/4 hour to Kelowna.
P.S. We paid $750.00 per month rent for a house, 3 bedroom before we moved in 1998. Can't see it being cheaper.
