My plan is to make Dirty Rice. But it is FREEZING here at work and I'm thinking I want something hotter to warm me up for dinner. Does anyone know of a dish with Sausage that doesn't have uncommon ingredients?

A nice way to use sausage that is a little out of the ordinary is to make a rice and peas dish with sausage. Saute your sliced sausage until browned, add rice to the pan and saute until the rice is beginning to brown, add water or chicken broth (two cups of broth or water to one cup of rice. Cook covered for 15 minutes, remove the lid and add your frozen or fresh peas ( about 1 cup) cover the pan and cook on low for about five minutes until the peas are cooked through. To gild the lily add a 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese and stir through just before serving. Some cooks add a dash of cayenne pepper, or a diced jalapeno when the rice goes in. The heat picks up all the flavors and you will be warm in no time. Good cooking.

How about Egg rolls?
I make them all the time and everybody just loves them.
Brown your lb of sausage. Throw together with 1 bad shredded cole slaw mix and you can season with season salt if you like. Roll up in egg roll wrappers and use egg to bind. Fry until browned all over. Drain on paper towels.
yummy........

my aunt used to make Original Kraft Macaroni and Cheese with ground sausage. After making the mac and cheese as usual, she would put in about a half pound of ground mild pork sausage. As a kid, it was AWESOME!!!
I would make it as an adult with HOMEMADE mac and cheese for a little richer, fuller taste!!!
