Are we back in the 30 and 40s?!!? 16 is a legal age to have sex. If she choices to have sex let her. If she is not ready that is her choice. She wasnt even asking for your permission she was asking for advice. [mine wasnt the best I agree ;) ]
But the choice is hers. I know I was at her age.

Every girl has to decide when the right time is for themselves. Sixteen is legal, so I guess it would depend on why she wants to have sex. Is it because she really wants to? Because everyone else is? To keep her boyfriend? Doing it for the wrong reason could turn something that is supposed to be memorable into something that she will regret. If she knows why she wants to have sex and is doing it for herself, then who are we to tell her she is wrong????

It would preferred if a girl of 16 would wait longer. The hopes of all parents are that she wait till marriage. Unlikely these days. rarely do people wait for that anymore. We just hope that the first experience is good, that she is protected and that it's with smeone that truly cares about her. I won't say she's too young.... I'll say it's too soon... there is a difference. Anything short of doing it with someone you truly love is too soon...
I regret having not waited...... it would have been so much more special when i got married, if I had been able to give her my gift of virginity as she gave me...
Yes the choice is hers...we just have to hope she makes the right choice! To do it or not do it is not the whole question.... The with who part is even a bigger question.

It is too young. I lost my virginity wayyyy too young. Yes, it's her choice, but it seems so many kids lack enough common sense to make informed decisions. I know I did at that age...thankfully I had no 'bad outcomes' however several of my classmates found themselves pregnant. The really sad part was they thought it was cool. While most went on to have the babies and immediately married their 'high school sweetheart' right after high school...many found themselves divorced by the time they were 21. I also had friends go through abortions and some contracted the usual run of the mill STDs.

16 is to young to have sex..one reason is you could get pregnant or get someone pregnant and that will make life a little harder...second why would you want to have sex at 16 and not know if the guy or girl you are with will stay with you..personaly I think you should what til you finish college and get a good job so you can take care if your self if preganacy or any other thing happen..not only that there are to many std out there

At the end of the day.... it is her choice as she is at the legal age.
I do believe some people at that age do it for the wrong reasons and lack understanding, etc, but that is a different topic. At the end of the day, the decision is hers!!

i totally agree. As long as sex is safe it isn't really a big deal is it? Just a show of emotion. So long as those emotions are felt truly, even just for a short while, whats the big deal?

Its easy for a young gril to have sex, trouble is at her age she probably don't realise the consequence of her actions, say an unwanted pregnancy for one!!! theres too much free young sex in this world today, pity.

i agree. if someone is the legal age, its up to them to make the decision. lets face it, most kids these days are doing it sooner than 16 so at least she waited to be the legal age

I think teens are desperate to get close to somebody and then hav sex b coz it will prove that they are really desperate the minute they turn 16 they start a relationship they should giv it time like of 2yrs when they are an adult then to start having sex

at the end of the day it is her choice and if she is ready and in a good relationship and feels comfortable why not it will happen at some point why delay it cuz of age.
