If a guy has longer hair and wants to put it up in a ponytail, then that's fine to use a hair accessory, other than that I don't see why a guy would want to experience using barrettes.

If you want to go for it. But I will say this: If I were to put barrettes in my 6 month old's hair, people would think he was a girl.

Nothing's wrong with it! ..?
he didn't ask for you to tell him Why he wants to wear them, but why do people make a big deal out of it.
Answer: Ignorance, and double standards. The whole...there are some things that some girls can do that guys can and visa versa. It's ridiculous, so do what you want, dude! DON'T listen to the narrow minded ignorants...
Hmmm I know so many boys that wear them. It's so pretty on pretty boys...I like femenine boys, immensely. Yeah, most of my best friends are the most femenine straight boys that I know! hehe
It's soooo pretty, and DOSEN'T make you gay, your sexual prefrence does... Looking "gay" and looking femenine are different. If girls can wear jeans, boys can wear makeup.
I know some old fashioned people who still think that girls that wear jeans are dykes. So, ignorant girls, I think if a guy's gay for wearing barettes, then you're gay for wearing jeans...
The whole thing is stupid. Girls are the worst about, it too. I think they just hate competition; some boys are much prettier than girls...

If she thinks i'm smexxi, who am I to argue? in the adventure that your gf made you do it, she's probly warm too. i've got by no ability enjoyed dishevelled denims, and that i by no ability discovered a thank you to sag them and nonetheless shop 'em on, and that i by no ability understood why you need them that unfastened in case you weren't shoplifting.... "how does donning vast dishevelled pants make you a "guy"?" Heck if i understand, Dude. Heck if i understand....

The only problem I can see is that people might think he was "gay". Other than that a leather one or a so called "manly" looking one should be acceptable. However, I would stay away from pink and purples. :)

If it makes you happy, go for it. People are going to talk and say whatever they want. As long as YOU know the truth, don't worry about what other people say or think! :o)
