What you need is a video capture interface board or at least an TV tuner with capture function (very common these days). Those interfaces/adapters got video input jack and software to record any video signal. The result is mpg movie format files which need to be burn on DVDs.
steps:
1.capture the video signal - using a video capture adapter and software = mpg files
2. manipulate the mpg files (add music if you want) with appropiate software tools (movie factory for instance)
3. burn the final result on DVDs (you need a DVD burner unit)

What I am using: AverMedia 1500 MCE TV tuner + Movie Factory

tadaaaa
;-)

Yeah that was my problem but I got an archos av500 and recorded the video from the player and edit it with windows movie maker. You can add songs words and other things.
