U.S. Population Will Reach 300 Million This Week
Population in the United States will reach the 300 million mark this week while future projections put the United States at the half-billion mark by 2050. Eighty percent of the nation's population growth is due to immigration. If the Senate's guest worker amnesty were implemented, the country could reach a billion people by the end of this century.

The politicians need to rethink amnesty. It will not get them votes in fact the opposite affect will occur. This is one issue Americans are hot about and it crosses all political boundaries. The politicians need to pay attention here.

If you really want to know the truth about the Americas, all America, starting from Alaska and all the way to Argentina, there are no real native Americans, America as a continent. All native Americans as you called them from the USA, they came from Asia and they all came through the Bering Straights over 1000 years ago. So you see native Americans (Indians) they all were immigrants. Now if you are talking when the Europeans came to America that's a different story. Today we are talking about illegal immigration not legal immigration, big different. We the American people have to wake up and stop this invasion of our country or some day we will regret it.

You're question is confused. To say (as in your 1st statement) that immigration accounts for 80% of our population means that 80% of Americans are immigrants. That's obviously not true. Then you go on to say that 80% of our GROWTH is from immigration, (as opposed to the birth rate) this being easier to believe. I'm not sure if you understand the difference (basic math) between the two statements, or if it was just a typing mistake, but I would amend this question if I were you. It doesn't make you look very smart.

Yep.....which is why the anti-immigration line is a bunch of bull..how can you be anit-immigration with so many ....and the racist line..they are here from everywhere......we just can't handle and sustain every person that wants to come here.

That is of course ,unless you don't mind ,having your child or grandchild being the next poster baby for starving children. Or waiting to see what country will be anti-america and decide to sanction food from being brought here because we won't have the land to grow the food anymore because there's too many people. The few rich can hop on their plane and go to more "humane" areas of the word or close off their little portion of the country.....but the rest are going to out here trying to survive. Have you read about our unstable power grid for a large part of North America? That's gonna start really going in just 3 years. That's because they haven't invested enough to expand it to deal with what we have now coz lord knows you can't cut into the profits and CEO's outrageous pay! They warned us about it years ago and we all had less babies and such.....just for them to open the flood gates to make room for the rest.

We ALL immigrated from somewhere, that is except for the Native Americans.
As long as the people immigrate here legally, I don't have a problem with it.

That figure assumes that no immigrants ever die. It takes births-deaths as one figure, and immigration as a second. A better way is splitting up deaths proportionatly.

well...if we keep taking care of them all...and letting them work for nothingjust to saty here...it wont be stopped...But I find it hard to believe that 80% growth has come frpom immigrants. If the country wanted to control it...it could....

Unless you are native American, they are talking about you, or your grandparents, or your great grandparents. Its absolutely true that most people living here now have at least one grandparent who was not born here. It might be nice if we remembered that now and again. But yes, I recognize a difference between illegal and legal immigrants.
