When trying on dresses, the best thing to do is wear the underwear you will be wearing on the occasion you're buying the dress for. Also, wear clothes that are easy to take on and off.

The boutique or designer store should provide you with the proper undergarments necessary for trying on any style gown that you need.

Not every strapless bra will be appropriate for all styles of gowns. Some gowns have open backs, some do not. Some dresses are strapless requiring a strapless bra, some are not. The people that say you should wear exactly what you are wearing on your wedding day are wrong. You may go and buy a bra that you like and then find out it does not work with the dress you end up with!

The boutique, if it's a good one, will have many different bras there that you can use, as well as shoes, etc.

Then, when you actually BUY your dress, you go and get all of the undergarments you need so you have them for your fittings. It is during the fittings that you will need EXACTLY what you will be wearing on your wedding day.

Since you don't know exactly what dress you will be wearing, the correct undergarments may have to come later.

I do suggest, however, that you wear a strapless bra and a slip. Never forget the slip! I would also wear shoes that would be the height you want for the gown.

Of course, as little makeup as possible and a button up or large scoop neck or v neck top for ease of changing. If you are shy, get a full slip, strapless ones are available. Sure, they see undressed ladies all the time, but do you want them to?

Just remember; simple, lightweight, clean, comfortable, modest. Anything else may leave you sweat-soaked and embarrassed.

Just wear something nice...whatever you're in the mood to wear. As far as a strapless bra....well, when I went to try on dresses, they gave me a strapless bra to wear...one that would normally be wore under a bridal gown (not the typical little strapless one) and we actually ended up buying it cuz it fit great....if it's a designer store, they most likely would do the same thing.

You should wear underwear you plan on wearing with the dress on the big day, and comfortable, easy to change out of clothes over that. A strapless bra would be best because it can go with several different styles.

I usually wear a skirt b/c it's easiest when trying on a bunch of dresses. I would wear a strapless bra just in case. Some places have one of those bra/bustier things for you to use. I wouldn't go all out in dressing up, but I would wear somthing cute. If you kind of want a better effect when trying on dresses I would have some makeup on and my hair clean. bring a ponytail holder or clip if you wanna see what your hair looks like different ways with the veil.

If you're planning on wearing a dress that needs a strapless bra then certainly go with that.
I don't think it matters what else you wear, something that's easy to get off.
But may I may make one comment--wear decent underwear. Do you have any idea how many girls wear thongs, hello, changing in front of people and having people you don't know tucking and folding. Do everyone a big favor and cover up.

Yes wear a strapless bra and panties that cover your bum since you will need help trying on the dresses, you don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Also, do not forget to shave your under arms. Good luck!!!

Wear a bra similar to what you would wear in the dress. Strapless is good.

Also, wear something that's easy to take on an off. Sweats or something. And shoes that are easy to get on and off. Flip-flops are great.

You also might want to not put your hair up all nice because odds are it's going to fall out from putting on and taking off dresses.
