I personally have a lot of dental issues myself. Some of the things you can do until you get in to see your dentist can be....Advil or Alieve combined with Tylenol...at the same time. gargle with salt water in that area. if its an open cavity with a hole in it you can get this stuff called "temprin" it will fill the hole temporarily. Also too much of the orajel or numbing medication can cause temp to permanent numbness of your lips and gums. Good luck the best thing to do is call you dentist and if the pain is unbearable they will give you something a little stronger. Good luck.

A dab of 'oil of clove' on the finger and wipe over the gum around the offending tooth. You may need to repeat this at fairly frequent intervals until such time as an appointment is arranged with a professional dentist.

schedule an appointment with the dentist, but untill then, go to your local pharmacy, they have this toothpaste-like gel that you can put over the tooth ache, and it will numb the pain.

Listerine seemed to help mine for about a month and my tooth was broken! I would use it about 3 times a day.
