It seems to me that military people fighting for "Freedom" who I respect very much because my father fought on Omahu beach after his LST was sunk bringing in the troops during D-Day.
The people in the military seem to me to fight for Freedom and then when someone uses this freedom of speech and it is not what goes with you thoughts, then we american who disagree are the "terrorist". This is Bush thought and Bushlaw.
Beleive me Bush does not care about you. See if he has gone to
one service man funeral. Its always been about Oil even in
Afghanistan where the new pipeline was finished last month to
run oil from former soviet republics. Folks learn.

Ummmm no.

Bush has been to visit wounded troops on several occassions but the president can't visit all of them or attend every funeral. To be fair the Presidents typically place memorial wreaths at war memorials or make speeches commerating the memory of the fallen because they'd be criticized for picking one funeral over another.

Only LB Johnson, Reagan, Carter and George HW Bush attended actual funerals of troops who either died as the result of a particular mission or were family or family friends. Lincoln and Clinton attended memorial services for troops out of all the wartime presidents we've had...and we've had quite a few.

Calling a person who speaks out against the dominant party in wartime a "terrorist" is a bit extreme. I have yet to see any of the republican's most respected pundits do as such. I have seen people say that the actions of war critics are treason because they suppossedly give aid and comfort to terrorists but that's not what the charge of treason really means by aid and comfort.

That designation is given to Americans who give direct financial or other support to enemies of the United States. Since the War On Terror started right after 9/11 only one American so far has been served an official warrant for treason and that is Gaddan who is an active member of Al-Queda and has made threats against America.

Saying that peaceniks support terrorists is a paradox. Yeah pacifists support mass murder now that's logical. No one likes war but the sad thing is sometimes it's the only tool that works. I was in support of military intervention to eliminate Saddam a long time ago (i have friends who are Kurds and even my Palestinian friends hate him).

Both the Dems and Repubs want to get rid of Al Queda they just have different ways of going about it.

Finally saying we went into Afghanistan for oil after 9/11 is just wrong on so many levels. The Taliban by their own admission was taking care of Osama and the heads of Al Queda. We wanted to destroy Al Queda and the Taliban was just in the way.

First off, I can tell you by some of the ignorant things you've posted on here today, you don't support the troops. You've put now thought into your questions and then have been upset by the replies. If you don't want to hear it, then don't post it. The military aren't going to support your freedom or be happy about having to do it when you post total ignorance. Bush does care. At least more than the Democrats ever have. At least we've gotten pay raises to keep up with civilians. Democrats are still trying to take away our benefits at retirement and so on.

And no, the President hasn't attended military funerals. He's not supposed to. No president in the past has either. If he attends one, he'll be expected to attend all of them. A funeral is a private ocassion, not something that needs press and bodyguards interupting the service. The men and women serving this country don't expect him to be there, so you shouldn't either. That's just crazy.

This war isn't about oil. The US hasn't gotten any oil to leave Iraq. Yes, Iraq is producing oil again, but it's not coming here. Them producing oil is a good thing. It'll help them become economically stable. The US gets less than 5% of it's oil from Iraq and this hasn't changed since the invasion. We get more oil from Canada than Iraq. I suggest if you're going to post such things, you get some facts. You just make yourself look ignorant.

I'm sorry, but you're the one that needs to learn. The FACTS are out there if you search. Quit believing all that biased propaganda they call news. You want to find out about the oil, there's facts on the internet to prove my point. Don't post blindly.

You forget that freedom of speech is a two-way street. You get to spout your drivel here, and cannot be harmed for it. But that does not mean those of us who differ from your point of view have to accept your point of view. You are lucky to be in a country that allows for an opposing viewpoint. Under Saddam Hussein, you would get tortured (for real) and then executed.

And if the war was about oil, why aren't we getting any? Iraqis get gas at $.05 per gallon. I am paying $2.57 a gallon. If it's about oil, why isn't gas at half of what I'm paying?

Stop drinking from the Liberal Kool Aid stands, and try to be objective.

I am so sick about hearing all this stuff about Bush not going to any of the funerals. Of those people I know who were unfortunate enough to get that dreaded knock on the door none of them would have wanted him there because of the media circus that it would've caused. And those that are serving our country have just as much right to tell you that you're an *** for spewing out all kinds of drivel as you have to spew out the drivel. Afterall they are Americans and that's one of the freedoms they're here to protect.

I don't care about what you or anyone else says.

Say all you want. Thats why I am here.

I like my point of view....talk Sh|t about the country or my brothers and sisters in the service and i'll take it just fine, but never expect me to have your back...would suck to be that person when the **** hit the fan and i just stood by.

My job is to protect America and her people...I choose to do it selectively when people decide they want to insult me and my country for providing such freedoms.

My father was also a WWII veteran and I am a veteran too. You are wrong, very wrong in regards to President Bush. Your father knew the right thing to do. You must have been a huge disappointment to him.

Military people have to support the war or they would be killing for no reason. It would be too much of an internal conflict for them to fight for a cause they don't believe in.

However, what kills me (no pun intended) is that they feel people owe them something and that we should believe they are protecting freedom. Iraq was not a threat because if it was the U.S. would not have attacked it. You don't see the U.S. attacking Korea because Korea is a threat.

Militiary personnel also need to know that my tax dollars go to that war whether I believe in it or not.
