The older you two get, the less striking your age difference will be.
It's probably just an old tale, but someone told me once that, from the man's point of view, the perfect age for a woman is half the man's age, plus 7. So if the guy's 26, a perfect age for his girlfriend would be 20. You're close enough.
If he's a decent guy, treats you well, and cares for you -- that's what's important.
Of course, if the age formula is correct, by the time he's 40, the best age for a girlfriend will be 27. And by then, you'll be 33 -- way too old for him. Make sure he's into you, not just into young women.

That age difference doesn't spell creepy predator. You are a grown woman. Just be totally natural about it and hopefully, your family will follow suit. You don't need to prove anything, if he's a great guy, he'll act like one and they'll see that. Good luck!

I don't really see what the problem is, you are not under age. If this fellow treats you right, and you enjoy being with him, who could ask for more. I don't think that's such a terrible difference in age. I'm sure your family will have no problem with this man. After all, mothers and fathers just want someone for their child that treats them right, and makes them happy. Just show up and be proud, introduce him and hold your head up high.

My child father was twenty four and I was Eighteen when we meet. You should point out all the good quilities he posses to your family. So it will take the ease off of his age. Also, if your family don't ask don't tell. But, If he is a good guy your family will c that n age will not matter.

That's not that much of an age difference. My first wife was 7 years younger than me and we were married when we were about your age. What's the big deal?

Be honest. Don't tell unless they ask, but be honest when they do. My husband is 11 years older than me and we have a great relationship. My parents love him to death and don't care about his age. They only care that I am happy and that we are taken care of.

There's only seven years difference and you're both adults - this is not a big deal. If he is as good to you as you say your parents should be thrilled that you found someone that treats you so well.
Just tell the truth, simpler by far. Good luck - it won't be as bad as you think I bet.

Let them meet they guy first. They will make their own judgements about whether or not he's a creep without knowing his age. Then tell them later.
