I'm guessing my son (15 months old) has a staph infection along with a diaper rash and I'm taking him to the doc this afternoon. There's no doubt in my mind that he caught it from daycare. I don't believe his teacher wears gloves when she changes the toddlers diapers. How do I convice her to wear them without sounding annoying or rude? Should I confront her first or go strait to the daycare director? She's a really nice girl and my son and I like her, but this can't happen again. Please give me your advice.
Thank you

Tell them you have just come from the Doctor. He/she said
the infection was probably due to the high number of children.
Since there is so many diapers to change your Doctor recommend from now on when out in public settings you must use gloves to change YOUR baby. Imply this means you also at malls etc.

Hope this helps.

Go right to the director. If any one is not wearing gloves it is A BIG PROBLEM.

Every person who changes diapers should always wear gloves for their own protection, and it should be a new pair of gloves for each child every time.

As far as the diaper rash, do they have your written permission to use diaper rash cream? They should use it at every changing untill it clears up. You should also make sure your son gets a new diaper 5 times a day whether he is wet or dry. As far as BM go, daycare centers are usually great about cleaning the kids. No one can stand the smell. LOL

Well, if it is policy to wear gloves in that day care, she needs to do it. I would go straight to the director. Wether you like her or not, your child's saftey is the most important thing. Honestly, I have never heard of a place wearing gloves, and I used to work in a day care, I know it was NOT a law in our state. Our policy was wash hands before and after every change, that's why our stations had sinks within two inches. BUT if your standards are gloves and that's supposed to be the policy, then I would complain. One more thing, I doubt it is staph infection, (I also have worked in elderly care). Chances are more likely it is a yeast infection and yes boys get them too, especially during the diaper years. That is easy to treat with an over the counter medication. Good Luck

Bring the problem up to the head of the daycare center. Tell them that you are not sure where you son got the staph infection and the diaper rash, but you think it might have come from the daycare center. If they could please be more careful about changing the diapers and washing there hands it would be great. If they still don't clean there hands or just brush you of then call the state on them.

I don't know where you are from but in IA it is mandatory by the Department of Human Services that daycare workers wear gloves when changing diapers and spray the changing after each use with a bleach solution as well as wash the child's hands and their own. If this is not a regulation in your state you should suggest that it become one. You should ask the director what the state mandate is and talk with her first (or him), the director should keep your concerns anonymous and convey them to the teacher.

If you find out that it is indeed a staph infection, ask your doctor if it is possible to spread one by changing diapers without gloves. If he or she says yes, then I would just mention to the teacher that he has a staph infection and tell her you would like for her to wear gloves when changing your son's diapers to prevent him from passing it on. When you are at the pharmacy, you can pick up a box of disposable gloves and give them to her. If she doesn't wear them, then go to the director.

If its a sanitary issue, i would go right to the director and speak to her about instating a rule about wearing rubber gloves while changing their diapers.

Staph infection sounds kind of harsh, though. It could be a yeast infection as young boys can get that as well. But have your son checked out to find out what is really going on.

Good Luck!

I would go straight to the director if I were you! If you don't think she is wearing gloves when she changes them, that has to be a major health code violation. I would research it based on where you live and take that in there with you. There is a difference between annoying or rude and being concerned about your child's health. Make it a point when you go in that you do like her, but this is something that should not be happening in a daycare.

I would ask the director exactly what is the procedure when your childs diaper is changed. If gloves are indeed supposed to be worn, then I would inform her that if they are supposed to be worn, then how did your child get a staph infection. I wouldn't think twice about it. It's your childs health and your well being that is at stake here...you can do it in an adult manner and all will be well.

I truthfully have a son in head initiate, even with the actuality that I truthfully have not had something like this take place. If I have been on your shoes, I additionally could are starting to be rid of him for now. As for the assembly, attempt to be calm and rational. i comprehend it rather is going to be tricky, even with the undeniable fact that it gets you the terrific effects. Ask the evident questions, approximately how and why that's taking place, yet additionally ask if she has spoken with the different youngster's mom. Does she even understand who's biting him? If she does understand which toddler is doing this, ask her to do away with the youngster from this technique. This has got here approximately diverse cases, and that i doubt your son is the only one that has been bit. If there's a toddler putting your son's well being and the well being of the different babies in threat, he should not be there. If the instructor does no longer understand which toddler did it, do no longer enable him pass decrease back. record this technique, needless to say some thing is amazingly incorrect. additionally, if those bites have broken the floor, take your son to the wide-unfold practitioner. Have this documented. do no longer purely enable it pass.
