It doesn't work and it is dangerous. Flea collars are the worse! Please don't use insecticide flea collars... My friend uses the -spot-on' that Walmart carries, but it made my dog sick..
I use Revolution..where has it been all my life!! It is new on the market, availble at many vet's, and is nearly total parasite prevention..Pretects against heartworm, fleas, ticks, ear mites, mange, and most worms..As it is new, vets are encouraged to give the first treatment free..It is just a spot-on application..

Hartz is cheaper for a reason..it uses dangerous pesticides in high concentrations. Hartz is unsafe. It also isn't effective. It can cause neurological issues, seizures and death. None of the OTC products are safe to use.

Yes, we tried it. Unfortunately, it did not work! I was very frustrated as I really hate fleas!
The vet recommended Advantage to treat our pets and Siphotrol Plus to treat the house - carpet, upholstry, etc. Wash your bedding and your pets bedding. I am happy to say the fleas were gone and fairly quickly.
Hope this helps!
P.S. I have never had any luck with flea "collars" they do not seem to work at all.
Also, if it get's cold where you live, open up the house - even if you have to wear a sweater and a coat, fleas love warm weather and die in the cold.

PLEASE.... DO NOT use the Hartz flea drops. I used it on four of my dogs and three were just fine, but the fourth one had a very serious reaction. She was very lathargic and I was scared to death. I rushed her to the vet and this is how I learned from my own mistake. My vet told me she has even seen these drops kill cats.I brought my dog home and gave her a bath to take the medication off that hadn't already absorbed into her body. She had it on only a couple of days. Thank God my dog is fine now!!! Again, DO NOT USE!!!!!

I only use Frontline on our dogs.

I tried Hartz and found it to be messy, has a strong smell (caused my German Shepherd to sneeze constantly), and it was so diluted it ran down my dogs sides. My min pin went to go clean himself and got sick from licking it.
