I did and I was approved with a cosigner&they say they are now awaiting school confirmation, but its been 2 months!...and everytime I call they say they dont know how long it will be...can anyone out there tell me if they went through the same thing with Sallie Mae?...do they ususally take so long?...what could be the real hold up?...should I apply with a different lender for my college loan?

i would try to apply for another one as a backup. it does take a while with sallie mae, they just want to make sure all the information you've provided is accurate. just be patient.

I have a Sallie Mae and I maintain my account on line. I've linked my Sallie Mae account to my bank checking account, so that each month money is sent from my checking account to Sallie Mae. I think this is the best way to handle the loan payments. Also you can pay ahead, if you find you have some extra cash on hand. Good luck!

BIG MISTAKE. Sallie Mae sucks you should have went with http://www.edonefast.com The whole loan process takes about a week to two weeks that includes getting your loan checks. Sallie Mae and other companies take forever! Yes apply with www.edonefast.com Make sure you have all the information you need and its so much faster when you fax information.

Sallie Mae is the best because it is federal and you'll be able to consolidate them later....something you cannot do with private loans.
