Does the cat eat in the kitchen? Are you the one that feeds it? This could be why.

"Feed me woman. I know you are the primary care giver".
When I was a child my cats would know that my mum was the kitchen lady and just saw her as a giant can of cat food.

Because it wants feeding - my cat does that too and only stops when it's food bowl is put down - full, preferably with it's favourite dinner.

You should get a dog and then you won't have this problem. Simply feed the cat to HIM, and then the dog will leave you alone.
