When I read some questions and answers, I know not all Americans are asking and answering them but I have to wonder - how many actually are, and if some are losing pride in their country and not learn, remember, or care how we became the country we are today and know what kind of country we are today

Many don't feel represented. Many are having trouble accepting that democracy can mean that 1/2 the people get what they want and the other 1/2 don't. Consensus is rarely achieved. And for all the fighting done here, the politicians from both sides do a whole lot more!

Not being proud of ones country comes from the same school of thought that one is ashamed because france, or germany or any of those other silly countries are mad at us. I'm as proud as I ever could be, The United States of American is a shining light in a world of tyrrany and opression and it clearly seems like we along with some of our close friends (Great Britian) are the only ones that have enough balls to do something about it. How could anyone be ashamed of that? Yea, maybe some people have lost pride, but they have also lost site of what this country is about!

Not losing pride in what this country is SUPPOSED to be, the land of the free and the home of the brave. but I am ashamed of what we have become. We are a paranoid bunch of sheep following a fascist leader into giving up everything we stand for.

No, they are losing respect for each other. Most Americans I believe are very patriotic. But with all the media's bashing of the two major political parties, American's are losing trust and respect for each other.

I still have pride in my country. I just feel sorry for the youth of today. The ACLU is doing its level best to take everything of any value out of their lives. This is their socialist agenda. We need to bring it back in. God forbid when these kids are going to have to fight to keep all the freedoms they currently take for granted.
