Aaron Pryor vs. Sugar Ray Leonard. Not many people remember this but Pryor woofed to anybody who would listen about wanting to get Leonard into the ring. Leonard blew him off. He knew how good Pryor was. Leonard knew that would be a dangerous fight.
Ray Arcel once asked Ray Robinson why he wouldn't give Charley Burley a shot at his title. Robinson's response was "I thought you were my friend". Even the great ones have fighters they don't want to mess with.

I was a big fan of the light welter and welterweights in the 80s, actually sparred with Mark Breland (both from the same part of Brooklyn). The fight/s I wanted to see but never transpired were:
Lloyd Honeyghan vs James "Buddy" McGirt and Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker vs Simon Brown. These two fights would have been great.
Note: Simon Brown's 12 losses looks suspect I agree until you notice 10 of the 12 came after he moved up to 153-160lbs. He never should have gone up in weight it destroyed his career.

Ezzard Charles vs Floyd Patterson would have been a great match-up. If not for Ezzard doing his impression of Dick Cheney and shooting someone it may have made it into the ring I think Ezzard would be too aggressive and stop Floyd in later rds.
And Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor vs Ray Leonard, Leonard would basically pucker up and smooch Pryor anytime he happened to show up at a Leonard press conference looking to call Sugar Ray out. He did so much ducking they should've put him on a nice piece of china and served him with mint jelly and a garnishment. .

1. Dempsey vs. Harry Wills would have been interesting
2. Johson vs. Jeffries WHEN JEFFRIES WAS STILL AT HIS PEAK.
3. Frazier or Foreman vs. Teolfilo Stevenson (Although I think Frazier/Foreman would have annihilated him)
4. Edwin Rosario vs. Alexis Arguello
5. Iran Barkley vs. Marvin Hagler

During what was a great decade for Middleweight fights I wished I could have seen Julian Jackson go toe to toe with Thomas Hearns. Problem was when a possible match was peeking around the corner, both of them moved up in weight class, Julian up to 160lbs and Hearns up to the Super Middle division. I imagine the bell for the first round and nothing but hey makers flying, first one to the canvas is the loser, GO!!!
Staying with my 80s wish fights. I really wanted to see Dwight Muhammad Qawi (30W 18KOs) take on Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (45W 32KOs) at Light Heavyweight. I don't really know what stopped them from facing one another, but if they had it would have been a war. If you ever saw Qawi fight Holyfield for the Cruiserweight Title, imagine that but at Light Heavyweight. Oh well.

This will test your boxing knowledge.....but Tony Ayala against either Robert Duran...Sugar Ray Leonard or Tommy Hearns.....this was his time (Tony is of course now doing it again!!)...but during his prime I still strongly believe that Tony "El Torito" Ayala would have taken all three of them....watching him come up as an amateur and professional..I have never seen any one with the "fire" and skills that he possessed....history now tells us what he amounted to and nothing more then the true "Raging Bull" that never was.....when he came out of prison I just knew the "promise" he had was still there and followed him after waiting 15 years to come out.....but he once again just wasted it......"once a thug..always a thug"......but still absolutely none of those three(3) would have touched him.......Ayala against Duran-Leonard or Hearns.......maybe even on the same night!....he was unbelievable but ended up nothing more then a piece of #*!!!!! and a waste of life and talent!!

I always wanted to see Liston vs. Foreman. I just watched a video clip of Liston vs. Williams and he was really strong (of course, so was Foreman, making a dent in the heavy bag and all that).
