I am in school and I don't get invited into people's group because I am Muslim. Do you think it is right to discriminate against people because of religions. they treat me in the most terrible possible way.

They don't discriminate because of your religion, they descriminate because of your race. It's a tough world, and you're muslim bro's back east aren't making things better for you.

You should send Bin Laden a letter and tell him to chill the f!@# out cause it's hurting your rep.

Maybe you could talk to your teacher about doing an oral report to your class about Muslim culture and beliefs. Express to your class mates how you as a Muslim get treated, especially after 9/11. By opening the eyes of some of your fellow students you might be able to make friends. At least to let them see that you are a person just like them and that there is no reason you should be treated any different.
If you wanted to do on a larger scale you could talk to the principle about it and maybe speak to the whole school. You could even try and get other Muslims to come in and talk about it.

hey princess, im also in school right now and also have a similar problem like that with fitting into groups and not being invited, but i'm more of an outcast because i'm very open minded about mostly everyones beliefs systems.but it is not right for people to discriminate about you being a muslim, thats wrong and people who think like that aren't worth hanging with. you should try to find other groups of people who can accept you for who you are. also if their treating you so badly thats wrong, come on you know it, just because your different doesn't mean they can treat you bad, i bet their just not socailly and culturally literate thats why. or that their just assholes, i hope you come up on top of your situation.

wishing you the best

Most people are uptight around people who are active in their religions. Most Christians blend in as they don't wear their religions openly in their dress. If you are wearing a headscarf or some other distinguishing garment, then people may not know how to relate to you because all their seeing is the garment, just imagine if some boy was wearing some kind of catholic priest robe, you might be a little intimidated by that.

Your challenge is to get people to see past the religious stuff and get to know you for you. Just start talking to people. Once they get to know who YOU are, I'm sure you will find some friends.

Is it right? Absolutely not.

But, its normal, so get used to it. If you were alive 50 years ago and you were black, you were dealing with it. If you were alive 60 years ago and were Japanese, you dealt with it. So deal with it.

But this should be a perfect example to you how a simple religious ideology can cause problems the world over. Kids dont even want to get to know you because of what you beleive in. That doesnt mean what you beleive is wrong and theirs is right, or vice versa. It just shows that religion is better for separating mankind than bringing him together.

It is your problem -- and everyone's problem. It is uncharitable to discriminate on the basis of religion, but people have a right to do so if they wish. I have no good advice except to try to be nice to people, and perhaps you can find friends in your local Muslim community.

Sadly, it says a lot about them and the hypocrisy endemic in society. What you should do is continue to be yourself, and understand that there are many small-minded people in the world. Luckily, they fade into insignificance fairly quickly after graduation.

And do you really want to spend time with people who only want to know you if you are a carbon copy of themselves?

People have the right to pick their own friends, even though this can be hurtful.

They may not know that you want to hang out with them, just try being nice to them, and get to know them.

People tend to be afraid of what they do not know.

Good Luck!

I do not personally feel that you should be discriminated against because of your faith but unfortunately in our school years this is common.

muslims are portrayed as terrorists now becuase of 9/11, as you probably already knew. There is no changing this. It is just something americans will have to get over, but it will take some time.
