What state? It does make a difference. I used to work for a Sheriff's department and all the time, parents would come in wanting to get some 20 something guy for statutory rape cause he boffed their 17 year old daughter. Had to tell them sorry, state law allows a girl to schmung anyone she wants at the age of 17, but its dependent on the state.

You people are all IDIOTS...

You have to know the state. THERE IS NO FEDERAL LEGAL AGE!!!!

Krystal,
I think you should slow down a little. Rushing into moving in with him could be trouble. I was in a very similar situation when I was your age. A month really isn't that long. I insisted on moving out the day I turned 18, and my parents were worried sick. Looking back, I really wasn't ready and it made me lose focus on what should have been important in my life at that age. Also, the age difference worries me too. He is a lot older than you and that will cause problems in your relationship more than likely. I don't know if he is into going out to bars or anything like that, but if so...you won't be able to tag along and that could lead to jealousy/trust issues. I personally think you should stay with your parents at least until you are out of school and have a job where you can support yourself. If he is still around at that point, great---then is the time to discuss moving in together. I know you probably don't like what I am saying, I wouldn't have when I was your age. But, I am only trying to make you think about it a little more than you maybe already have.

Usually the legal age is 18 but a lot of times, when you're dating, no one would bother you about the age thing. It seems to only go big time when it's a teacher fooling around with a student which looks bad because it sets a bad example between adults and minors or if it's someone with a lot of years in between and it's obvious.
Unless you know someone or if your parents are the type that would file a police report, I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, you're going to be 18 soon anyway.

First, I think it really depends on which state or country you live in. Just call the local police department, and ask them a question above. Relax, they will not track you down and arrest you or remember your name and get you trouble later.

But in general, usually it has to be 18 years old.

On the other hand, who gives a damn? Maybe your parents do, or some of your concerned friends would. If you are not a troubled teenager or ran away from home, I think its okay to live with your bf. But I strongly recommend you to see a counselor often, so to assess your new development. Remember, you need to take care of yourself.

In six weeks you are becoming 18. Good. When you rent a suit at the aparment, the manager will ask you will you live there alone or with someone else. He or she will ask you to see your driver's license, and they will photo copy it for the record. And your boyfriend's as well.
They will also ask you for the social security number.

About introducing him to your parents... did you tell your parents you are moving with him? what are their reactions? I would tell your parents in a manner that is giving an impression like, " I want to learn more about my life. I want to move with my bf, and I want to do this for the 'trial' of learning about the future marriage relationship."

Tell them with decreet manner, and give them the image that you are happy being with him (like holding hands and be comfortable, and soft-spoken tone.)

Let's see what happens.

Good luck.

Legal age is 18. Wait one more year before you do anything.

18 is the legal age. Also, are you absolutely sure that he is not using you for sex? Of course if that is what you want, it is your choice since you are asking about legal ages, but I'd hate to see your heart get broken...
