I Met my ex at my friend's house warming party. He was with his girlfriend. They looked great!
We talked for a while and he asked me what I thought about his gf, I said "she's beautiful!" then he said "Yes, the first time I saw her, I just fell in love with her cuz she so had your eyes."
I was speechless for a moment, I didn't know what to say, I wasn't sure what he meant by saying so, but I knew I had to say something! So, I told him "No! She does not have my eyes. just look into her eyes...! She’s so in love with you!"
That was all I said. He smiled. I think I said it right, didn't I?

I think you said that just right. It lets him know that you are happy for him and that you don't want him back all in one sweet little innocent comment. You should be proud. You headed off an awkward moment without being cruel.

You said it right, if you have broken up with him and you are not trying to get him back. If you wanted him back, you should take advantage of what he siad, because it was a hint that he might feel something for you.

He still wants you. He found somebody who reminds him of you. You pretty much said to him that you are not in love with him. Love in her eyes, none in yours. Best way you could have put it and didn't lead him on UNLESS you are playing headgames!!!!
