isn't this decidedy BAD NEWS for me? (The Gospel being Good News for you)

Oh yea, Jesus is saying....(16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned

Don't know who said,"To thine own self be true" ... that might even have been Jesus too, but if I do that, then I can't go around pretending to believe.

Maybe it's not so bad being damned, which human being really knows?

Fine, it was Hamlet... it did sound like something that Jesus might have said though. And to pick at that point as a so-called answer is ... daft.

Wouldn't that be the ultimate circular logic though, asking a being that you don't believe exists, to help you believe that it exists?

You say.....
"Fine, it was Hamlet... it did sound like something that Jesus might have said though. And to pick at that point as a so-called answer is ... daft."

People will say anything to make Christ and Christians look bad, you think it's stupid for us to tell you that Shakespear said that and not Jesus, because you think Jesus would have said it anyway?
*shaking head*

Talk about daft.......................

And I assure you, it is a bad thing to be damned, THIS human being knows............because I read and believe and trust the Word of God.
Besides...If I am wrong, which I being I am not...no harm , no foul
If YOU are wrong..........welllllll...........nuf said

Have you ever thought about what it means to "Believe"? I understand believing is accepting mentally what is suppose to be believed. Believe also speaks of putting ones trust in What Jesus says. Baptism is a formal way of entering the Christian community. I believe that some who do believe (trust) in Jesus as God's savior for mankind and for some reason beyond their opportunity to be baptized will be with God in Heaven. Without trusting Jesus Christ to have paid for your salvation, baptism would be an empty ritual without any real meaning.

You are right, it is not good to go around pretending to believe. We have far too many of those type now. We call them hypocrites. Since GOD knows the thoughts and intent of our hearts, we would not fool Him anyway.

We are told that if we seek the truth, we will find it so perhaps you can do just this. Ask GOD to help you to believe. HE will do it.
