My monitor has way better picture quality than my TV. I doubted that it could be done but I thought I'd ask.

OK you have 2 ways of doing that:
first way is to get TV card which is very cheap.
second way is to buy video to VGA converter.
do the following go to yahoo shopping then write "video to VGA converter" in the search box you'll find over 100 product that can do that.

A tuner card could be a thank you to pass. Its basically a chew of hardware you purchase at Circuit city that helps your computer to examine the feed. think of cable container for the lower back of your computer. in case you have HD provider through your cable im specific your computer screen has an hdmi enter however
