Nod literally is translated the Land of Fugitiveness. It simply refers to the area he went to away from the rest of his family. After that Cain established a city. (Genesis 4:17) Cain married one of his sisters. (Genesis 5: 4,5)

The Bible doesn't say how long the period is from Cain's birth until the time he finds a wife in Nod, so the most likely situation is that Adam and eve had many other children and that Cain's wife is one of those other children or their descendants. Genesis 5:4 says that Adam and Eve had other sons and daughters after Seth, who was born after Cain and Abel.

the Bible does not tell it all, Adam and eve had more then two children, they are just not mentioned in the Bible because they had no real importance as to the message that god wanted recorded for our own use. we do not know for sure how long Adam and eve lived , i have read it was anywhere from 500 to 1000 years but no one has come up with an answer that can be proven. but it does show that Adam and eve had plenty of time while here on earth to have multiple children

What a great question. I am no expert on the Bible, but I think I have an answer for you that might sound weird but it is the only concevable answer regarding this. Some people believe in Adam and Eve as the 1st people and some believe in evolution. I believe in both. Adam and Eve were the first two but when their som met his wife, he met a female who had evolved from an ape, I believe these first people were called Cro Magnem. It is the only logic I can make from that.

Some say the story of Adam and Eve was just a fable of man's folly.I also was told by some Christians that Cain married his sister, (he took her with him). Yes, i have heard and asked this question for years. I think it's just a story about the basic nature of man.

The Bible is also concerned only with a single strain of people, i.e., Adam and his descendents.
If you notice, only Adam's family are included. The Bible does mention other people and other lands, so there were probably more people than our preachers tell us about.

Just because they were the first, doesn't mean they were the only. If you are first in line for a show, doesn't mean you are the only one attending it. Where did the others come from? May God had established a test/control group? Wiser men than I have not found the answer, yet.

The bible says Adam and Eve were the first. It does not say they were the only.

I agree with Max Marie. I think that people try to over analyze the Bible too much.

you think the bible really happened, don't you?

There are so many flaws and contridictions in there that are supposedly "the devil" when in fact its a poorly written fair tale to keep you from being a bad person.
