I'm hosting a Fear Factor-esque party for a group of 9-12 year-olds. I don't want anything that will make them sick or anything ultra messy. Does anybody have any ideas for tasks they could perform?

We did this for our sons a couple years back. It was November so we had to limit outide activities BUT we did do a couple.

We filled a bucket with ice and some water and the kids stood in it, barefoot, for as long as they could. (no one got sick)

We broke into two teams and did the egg passing game, the person at the end takes an egg, cracks it and has to pass it down the line all gooey and messy and the last person puts it in a cup. There was a line on the cups to where they had to fill. It was a blast!

Inside we hung donuts from string and tied their hands. They raced to eat the donut the fastest. Too funny!

Of course we did some 'dare' eating. 1 scoop of lemon juice per cup of water and everyone did it, if they wanted to, we then increased the lemon and on and on. Lots of sour faces and kids were pretty smart when to withdraw.

Fear Factor Food Ideas

You can make a "worms n dirt" cake. That would be hilarious. (You know, gummi worms and oreos. There's recipes on the net)

You can also have a "smell" test. Blindfold them and find smelly scents to put in a jar or small container. Whoever guesses the most right wins!

Have a table for "yucky" food for them to eat. Nothing really yucky...Just stuff you normally wouldn't eat. Like peanut butter and mayonase, or ice cream and ketchup. Whoever eats all of their *small* bowl wins. Not sure if this one would make them sick. Just an idea.

I don't know if this would be too scary but you can be chatting over their snacks that a room in the house is haunted and make up a story. Tell them you berely ever go in there and a task would be to sit in a chair in the room for 10 minutes. Have a second person (that they didn't know was at the party) hide in the closet and make noices or grab their feet (if its dark)
At the end, the person can show their face and you can reveal that the story was false. This would be good since its so close to halloween.

Fear factor is an awesome party. I would suggest that since it is halloween time you could do fake things like gummy worms and spiders. You could use spaghetti noodles as brains. There are so many options with it being this time of year just go to the junk food aisle at the store and search through there you can make substitutions for all the "real" things they use on TV. ALso check the halloween aisle. Good luck use your imagination!

I would do a gross out fear factor body parts using things you eat just at home and put them in bowls that have a cover on them so know one can see in and see what they are. They have too guess. You put the name of what it is suppose too be on paper in front of the bowls. It will be a lot of fun i'm doing it for the cadets halloween party.

Yep, this was a favorite at my daughters.

Ingredients:
small cheap diapers
chocolate pudding
cans of creamed corn
peanuts

Mix, fill each of the diapers and tie their hands gently behind their backs, or just say you can't use your hands and whoever can eat theirs the fastest wins! I gave away a giant baby pin as the prize for this one!

The girls all grossed out when they saw it, but knew right away that it was chocolate because of the smell...it was hilarious!

Apple bobbing (with plastic apples) or whatever in a large container of over cooked spaghetti that has been sitting in water for too long!~

Try this put a big bucket of ice and see who can stand in it the longest. Then try having a ketchup, water, and mustard (Mixed together drinking competiton. (It will gross them out but no sickness.) Then if you can rent a balance beam and have the kids walk across to one side jump on to a rope climb up and grab a flag, Get back on the balance beam and run back to the other side, Fastest time wins.

I had a fear factor party for 14 year old girls, and we mainly had gross food...like sardines, liver, etc. but it just depends on how old they are...9-12 year olds don't seem like the no fear type....you could try to do like baby food or gummi worms or something...tricking them could be fun! good luck

ONE FUN THING THAT WE DID WAS MELTED CHOCOLATE IN A DIAPER AND HAD TO EAT IT OUT WITH A SPOON...IT LOOKED SOOOO GROSS!!!!!!

I have hosted this, and the candy they give you is gross looking and gross tasting what we did is pull a number from a bag and if it was that number u had to do perform a stunt. like counting to 10 and guzzling something. or tying shoes together and last 1 to put their shoes on loses, or what we did was to have someone sing and if they voted whether they liked it or not.

Play dress the mummy Put the kids in teams of two or more. One has to be the mummy and the other team members have to wrap them up like a mummy, we usually give them a few minutes to do the wrapping. Then have a prize for the best one. For the bandages use rolls of toilet paper, and give one to each wrapper in the team. Have fun
