Yes, the legality aspect comes in on how they use the tape. If it is used as any sort defemation of character, that is libel. If it is used in appropriately, as if they video taped you using the bathroom or changing, this is illegal. If you are caught on tape doing something illegal, such as the videos on the popular show Cops or in police cruiser cameras, this becomes public record, and is not illegal to be shown. On many prank shows, such as Jackass and PunkD, the victims must sign a waver afterwards releasing the right of the producers to use their face. Otherwise it must be blurred

Yes, while you are in a public place. You have no expectation of privacy in a public place and someone with a camera does not need your consent or release to take and publish still or video images of you.
If you are not in a public place, it depends upon state law. While eavesdropping is illegal in all 50 states, it's possible that a video image without the audio overlay could be legal. Most states have probably corrected this discrepancy by now.
In at least one case a video "peeping tom" who had planted a video recorder in a neighbor's attic escaped prosecution because the law explicitly prohibited audio eavesdropping and the "peeping tom" statute required the perpetrator to be in close proximity to a door or window. The best the state could do at the time was a simple trespass with all the weight of a parking ticket.

How and where are they taping you? It is not illegal for a store to have security cameras taping you as you walk into a store. It is not illegal for me to tape an intersection and then accidentally catch you on tape. I would not have to get your permission. Is somebody taping you as you babysit their kids? No that is not illegal but if they use that tape to watch you go the the bathroom then yes. Also they cannot tape tou where you expect privacy such as dressing rooms and showers. Locker rooms especially.

a corporation? or an individual person? If an individual is filming say their baby walking down the street for the first time and you happen to walk by as an "extra" there is nothing at all illegal about that. You can be video tapped by anyone without your permission....but, if they were to use that video and put it somewhere that can be seen by other viewers...ie, theater or internet, they would have to have you sighn a waiver approving its distibution.
For corporations, they generally put signs up advising everyone that there is video survalience.
Also you can go on Google earth, download live feed and see footage of someone going from work home...and that is perfectly legal.
Also everytime you get pulled over by a Police officer and their lights are on you are being filmed by the camera in the cop car...thats where "cops" comes from!

You are video taped everyday. From when you arrived at work this morning, when you stopped to get your coffee, when you were shopping in Wal Mart this past weekend.
That being said, if your landlord tapes you while you are taking your bath, or someone is peeping in your window at night....yeah that is bad

If it occurs in a public place, then there's not much that can be done about it. News media pesters people all the time by following them around with a camera. Traffic cameras are out there, all sorts of other security cameras. We are a society of cameras. It only becomes illegal if done in a place where there is a (legal) expectation of privacy, like in your home, restroom, tree fort, congressman Foley's office, things like that.
