I feel you sister. My fiance's whole family lives in ohio. Half of my family is in ohio too and the other half is in oregon where I grew up. My family has a beautiful beach house in oregon that i could use for free. Of course it will be hard for a lot of people to fly to oregon for a wedding. So we decided to go for it and have the wedding in oregon. We figure the people that matter most (parents, siblings, close friends, etc) will make the effort and come out there. Most of them are looking at it as an excuse to go on a vacation. We are making it extra special for the people who are comming and having a few events throughout the weekend and welcome baskets upon arrival. We are also making sure that we have a hotel picked out and rooms on reserve for them all, to make it as conveiant as possible. We plan on having a shower and other events (engagment party, etc) out in ohio so that even if they cant come to the wedding they feel included. We'll be inviting everyone, though we're expecting less than half to come. Dont worry. The people that really matter will be there. You just have to go into it knowing not everyone can make a financial commitment like that. Good luck and best wishes!
