It's not weird for a 21 year old to like a 16 year old, however, as you have indicated in your question, it is against the the law for the 21 year old to have sexual relations with the 16 year old. The age difference might seem weird now, but in reality, there are many older people who have this age difference.

Five years isn't much in the scheme of things, but right now, what do you have in common? A 16 year old is in high school and should be focusing on school work, friends and activities with people their own age. They are learning to be grown ups but aren't there yet and most aren't ready for a grown up, adult world. At 21, you've been around a bit more and have, or should have, interests beyond those of a high schoolers. The five years between you right now are pretty big ones and you should know that and move on.

If you like someone you like someone. Something to keep in mind though. Although it is only two years, a lot can happen in that time. Both of you can change and grow into different people. If you're willing to wait 2 years for her, then it sounds like she's pretty special to you. Understand that she may not be willing to make that same two year committment, and I'm pretty sure her parents would disagree as well.
Not trying to bring you down, just hope you know what are the chances that go with waiting like this.

I have a 16 year old daughter.......a 21 year old "male" comes around.......he should know how to move quickly........for his own sake. As well as the "contributing to a minor" laws in his state.
