No, but a photon doesn't make it's own decision to change its polarization either, yet, photons DO change their polarization.
Besides, the whole singularity at the start of the visible universe was discarded long ago. It was not a singularity, at least, not in the black hole sense of infinititely small and infinitely dense.
The inflationary era was caused by the sudden collapse of the quantum vacuum from one energy state to a lower energy state, the potential energy released as the sudden existence of particles and lots and LOTS of spacetime.

You have set up the question with an assumption... Why can "eternal mass" not start the Universe? Why must there be some "intelligent" being or beings to begin things? Your question presumes the answer and is illogical...

So it seems that your question is, "What created God?" I've been wondering that myself.
Actually, there is proof that the Universe exists. There is no proof that God exists. Astronomers and other scientist are working to figure out how the Universe was created. We simply don't have that answer yet.

Hi - so basically you are saying "nothing comes from nothing". It sounds reasonable but it is a paradox. It says that the universe must have been created by a god but it also says that something had to create that god. Since nothing comes from nothing then god could never have existed to create it all.
The argument collapses.

i think god is a figure of your imagination which manifests in your mind and the mind of many others. those who are truly crazy about god form what seems like a cult and use this imaginative idea of god as a means of manipulating and shackling the very human soul by trying to control humanity itself through it's sometimes absurd ideas.
beIieving in god has twisted the minds of so many people, ie. the children of Waco, telling a child that doing god's service means being molested by a holy man is ok, and various political issues like gay marriage and abortion. you see it is here that these people's fabrication of a god gets really extreme because they use god as a scape goat to justify thier ideas of how life should be. that is why i don't believe in god.

Here's my argument:
The Bible (for Christians) and the Torah (For Jews like me) believe that the Earth is 5-10,000 years old. In the entire frame of that time, sheep have existed with the help of man. Without the help of man, sheep would not existed (I have not heard one story of wild sheep existing, they would simply wander off of cliffs and die, not knowing any better). Knowing that man is entirely responsible for the survival of that animal, how is it that they have survived a timeframe of millions of years?

Because I have no reason TO believe in God. I don't have to believe UNLESS I prove there is no God. For me, it's the other way. IF you want me to believe, then first, prove me there is a god, and then, prove me I need to care. Otherwise, I see no reason why I should believe.

Why do you think you are even remotely capable of understanding how the Universe works? I know I'm not.

That's OK, but God DID make the universe.
