I've heard of Black, Green, and White teas, but just recently I heard of Red and Orange as well. Are there any others, and what are their differences? I know some teas have more benefits than others, but do they each have their own different benefits too?

There are four types of true tea: black tea, oolong tea, green tea, and white tea. The term herbal tea usually refers to infusions of fruit or herbs such as rosehip tea, chamomile tea and Jiaogulan that contain no tea leaves. Orange Tea is made primarily from orange peels. Red Tea is made from the indigenous herb of South Africa called Rooibos.

Black tea is a "true" tea is made from leaves more heavily oxidized than the oolong varieties. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than the more lightly oxidized teas.

Oolong is a traditional Chinese type of tea somewhere in between green and black in oxidation. Although it has a taste more akin to green tea than to black tea, it does not have the stridently grassy vegetal notes that typify green tea.

Green tea is a "true" tea that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea is popular in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and the Middle East. White tea is tea made from new growth buds and young leaves of the tea plant. The leaves are steamed or fried to inactivate fermentation, and then dried. White tea therefore retains the high concentrations of catechins which are present in fresh tea leaves. The buds may also be shielded from sunlight during growth to reduce formation of chlorophyll. White tea is a speciality of the Chinese province Fujian.
