I met a guy few months ago and has already proposed to me. I want to check his background. where do I start/?

This man is a highly educated person that lived out of the country for the last three years. He has returned and is looking for employment. He seemed to have achieved a lot but I still want to check on his activities before leaving the country (USA). there are many background check agencies online but not sure of any. Help. Don't want to put the cart before the horse

It's great that you want to check his background and you certainly should check it, but I wouldn't even consider marriage at this point in your relationship. A background check would only give his known criminal history. There may be a lot more than what is known - he may be a criminal and hasn't gotten caught yet. He may be someone who sponges off women, he may do drugs or sell drugs, he may molest children. There's a whole list of things!

Get to know him better before marrying him. If he truly loved you, he would wait for you.

Go to your local police and have them run a check on him if you are that concerned. Or try going to credit check online and type in his information and have it mailed to your address. Make sure he does not find out, he may get upset and there will be no wedding.

first of all.............assume all he tells you is a LIE!......then start with his local Police Station. And if you re thinking of relocating to another country with him........make sure you know of what VISA laws that country has......and how easy will it be for you to get out.....if the relationship goes bad.
