I simply wish to survive a nuclear exchange and be able to live out my life with an acceptable level of comfort.

While I don't think you have to worry about a full-scale nuclear war, I would say the safest places to live...and still have a pleasant life with amenities is Australia or somewhere in South America...far from Venezuela

You need to figure out where a nuclear strike is most likely to occur. Then don't live downwind of it. Nuclear winter refers to a planet wide catastrophy, so there is no place to avoid it. Its referring to a could of dust, kicked up by the explosion(s) that would encircle the Earth, thus blocking the sun and lowering global temperatures. Worrying about nuclear winter and fallout doesn't accomplish anything. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen, there's nothing we can do about it.

Hmmmmm, well - the best place to live would be somewhere where the winds won't blow the fallout over you. Probably somehwere like Australia, possibly England, maybe France. The exchange, if there is one, will occur either in the Middle East, the United States, and/or the orient - Koreas.

So, you want to stay away from them, and their Easterly neighbors - stay out of the areas where the jet stream is going to blow the fallout over you.

Hawaii is too dangerous - it could get fallout from the orient. The US, Canada and Mexico are probably no good - but you may be able to get away with Argentina, or something in South America.

Australia is probably safe, so would be England, France, somewhere in Western Europe - possibly Italy, or Northern Africa/Spain/Gibraltar.

I live in TX - I'm probably screwed!

If a full blown nuclear attack comes about, probably nowhere is safe. If you survive the initial blast, you will eventually become exposed to radiation. The best thing to do is build a fallout shelter.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Nowhere on earth. That's why governments are trying to build space stations and find out if other planets can sustain life.
