Do you think that you should be able to use cell phones in school?
Cell phones are usefull becaue if someone needs to contact you with an urgent message, they would have to call the school, then the school would call you down to the office, then you would be told. You SHOULD be able to use phones in school because of this reason. People say you shouldn't be able to, because 1 out of 15 people cheat with camera capabilities, and using text messages. You shouldn't punish people for one persons actions. Please leave reasons and explain them. =D

You know i agree with you i am a student as well and just like you we have a policy that doesn't allow cell phones. I mean not even during nutrition or lunch i mean our free time i think we should do with that time whatever we want. Just like mp3's or ipods what it so wrong aobut them during our break time. I mean when it comes to an emergency that is the reason we have them in the first time.

I think it would be more useful just to have an intercom system in the school and all classrooms (as most of them do), but add the feature of being able to make an emergency phone call anywhere as needed. Perhaps some of them already have that. I'm not entirely sure why students would need to have access to phones 24/7.

I agree that a limited volume of scholars with weapons may be a solid element. I additionally agree that there could be very physically powerful standards utilized to who will could raise. do no longer maximum faculties have Psych. Departments? With the army offering lots of reward, many veterans are enrolling at college now. many faculties even have persons who're studying to strengthen into law enforcement officers. Have the Psych dept. video exhibit those adult men and girls, provide them a sound protection course and enable them to guard themselves. i flow to classes and there are a number of scholars i might no longer decide to work out wearing a weapon, yet there are a number of who i think of could nicely be accountable. battling a classes shooter merely before hand has prevalent no longer available, protection or the police can on no account circumstances get to the scene in time; If he had walked perfect right into a room with an armed knowledgeable student, the dying toll might have stopped at that room. To all people who say weapons do no longer end violence; New Jersey has now no longer purely the toughest anti-gun regulations interior the country, in addition they have 3 of the ten maximum deadly cities interior the country. In that small of a state that would not seem to instruct ok that unarmed citizens are safer.

School should be for learning, not playing with phones.
The office is there for a reason, it's not like it takes an hour for them to get on the intercom and let you know there is an urgent matter for you.
We didn't have cell phones when I was in school and everyone turned out just fine! The future generation is going to be doomed with stupidity because they think school is for friends and phones and not for getting an education and getting a good job when they are older!
GIVE ME A BREAK!

I think everyone should be able to have them, but not necessarily use them in class. The only time they should be allowed for use is after school and during lunch (or a break).

No, I don't think they should be allowed. School is for learning, not phoning your friends! I would bet my chocolate stash, that the "emergency" excuses is just that--an excuse. I highly doubt there are very many "urgent" calls coming in. (Urgent meaning your dad had a heart attack, your house is on fire, child missing, etc.)

Absolutely not! The system in place works just fine, in matters of EXTREME emergency, the pace to get the message to you would be frenetic. Don't worry about that point. What I would worry about is your schooling, you are there to learn, not fraternize with buddies via texting one another. The rules that are in place are good ones...if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Peace
