Why in the world would you even consider such a thing?

I am a piercer, and I recently tried to pierce my nipples vertically. Let me tell you, that was not a pleasant experience, I had to have my partner help me finish the other one. Even as a pro, I would still rather have someone else do it for me and there are TONS of reasons for that.
In your case, don't do it. You can screw up the piercing, hurt yourself, easy get an infection and there is a whole world of other issues. Even if you think you are being careful you are. Chances are you don't have the correct equipment or know-how to just be shoving a needle thru an area as sensitive and fragile as a nipple. Just save your money and get it done correctly, trust me, you will thank yourself greatly.

I have pierced my own nipple. Worst decision ever. After the infection cleared up and the wound healed, I had them both pierced by a qualified professional. It's worth the money to have it done right.
On a slightly related note, if/when you do get your nipples pierced remember to always wear an undershirt with a sweater. I know...

Of course people have. Thats idiotic. I had mine done professionally under sterile conditions by someone with anatomical and cross contamination training.
Hope yours falls off if you are dumb enough to risk your health over a self piercing.
