The number varies from pumpkin to pumpkin. There is no set number of seeds based on size or species.

Definitely not!! I've "disected" enough of them to know -- LOVE fresh, homemade pumpkin pie.

Seriously, seed production is dependent upon MANY factors, so will vary by individual pumpkin.
