to be honest yeah it will hurt to eat with them, when your not active with your mouth it wont. I was eating a piece of bread and it hurt, so it does hurt quite a bit even if its soft

Lets just put it this way. Been dieting lately? Well don't because your not going to want to eat after the first day. I remember way back when when I had mine tightened for the first time. Your teeth are going to be pretty sore. Every body's different. You might be alright. Ask your ortho what you can take for the soreness. They may have something new and improved since I had braces.

usually u'll be sore for the first couple of days. After that you should be fine. I recommend you take motrin or ibuprofen before your appt. to help with any of the soreness.
