I have short hair, I do not color it and I have no stress at all. About 4 months ago I noticed that my hair was falling out at a rapid rate. Now I can see my scalp. I am a female and I do not know why this is happening?

I started losing a ton of hair and I saw a Dr. after a long while of this going on and it turned out to be a thyroid condition. There are many medical reasons why ones hair may fall out. I'd make an appointment with your doctor to be sure.

Just a thought but maybe you might have your doctor do a blood test to check your thyroid. I had issues with my thyroid and as a result my hair was falling out. That was easily remedied. Sometimes when we think we have no stress, we do. It can be very elusive. Naturally that can cause hair loss and all kinds of things. Seeing your doctor is a good place to start though. Best Wishes to you.

Dear there are certain reasons for hairfall for instance lack of sleep, stress and depression, intake of some medicines, pregnancy, hormonal related problems, application of high chemicals, pollution and dust and lack of balanced diet(esp proteins. There cud be anyone of these reasons behind ur hairfall. As far as I know u shud increase the intake of foods which contains high proteins bcoz hair is made up of protein only.If u ll reduce the quantity ,it ll lead to weak hair and hence it will start falling,So first thing is to look upon ur diet whether u are taking sufficient amount of proteins like curd, milk, pulses, leafy vegs etc.Just prevent urself from junk food like burgers, chocolates, ice creams etc, secondly take 6-8hrs sleep ,always be cool escaped from tension and stress and take care of ur hair by massaging twice in a week with any hairoil which suits u... then u will notice upto some extent u hav overcome of ur problem!!!

please see a doctor. This could be a sign of an underlying symptom of a more serious disease.

Poor eating habits, stress, being underweight, etc. can all increase hair loss, but if this has come on suddenly, please consult a physician (or start some research on www.webmd.com)
