Okay. The immigration gods have smiled on you and all the policies you support will be implemented. However, you would have to concede ONE thing. What is that one compromise that you are willing to make?

And please don't say no compromise because that is the point of the question. I'm just trying to get an idea how far either side are willing to go in order to resolve this issue.

And let's try to keep things civil. It's only Monday, after all.

Thanks.

Ok, in that case, we have a fence and completely secure the borders.

In return, I grant amnesty (citizenship) to people who have been here 15 years or more, but only if they pay back taxes, fines, and anything else that they owe.

The only compromise I would be willing to make is that those who have been here over 15 years working (not collecting welfare) would be granted amnesty if they have no criminal record for that time, and are willing to pay back taxes for those 15 years.

I am not anti immigration, just anti illegal immigration.

And I agree - lets try to keep things civil. Monday's are bad enough!

It's Monday.....we're living in a perfect world.....you said quite clearly ONE consession.............and that's a tough one..............a 3 month chance to wrap things up here and return home willingly. No ICE, no arrest, prepare your kids, pack your stuff, get your money and return home. If you feel there's papers that would make you legal because you married an American citizen or something.....must be filed by then. Want your anchor children to stay with a legal relative.....give them custody by then. A chance to take the things you worked for, and leave willingly.

Good question! The only thing I can think of is the cost to the illegal immigrants...I would not say a word no matter the price.

The current plan is to spend over a billion dollars, just a starting figure [we know what becomes of these costs], to build a 700 mile fence along a 2,000 mile border. Stupid. No fence.

One compromise? OK. I won't demand prison time for owners/CEOs of businesses which hire illegal aliens. But they will pay heavy fines which will be used to offset the increased costs associated w/ the invasion.

compromise is what Neville Chamberlain did with Adolph Schicklegruber in 1939.

Anti here. One concession I will make is they don't have to pay for the bus or air fare that ships them out of the country.

The compromise is for them to leave now and not have to make this hard.
