haven't you ever heard that in order to ovecome fear, you must face it head on. Does it really make sense to not go to the doctors because he may tell you how to prevent or stop whatever it is that is causing these attacks? Don't be stupid, please help yourself and get to a doctor. You might have on of those attacks and die. Consider how your family or loved ones would feel if you prematurely dropped dead because you were too scared to got to the doctor. I think they'd be sad but disappointed at you for not taking proper care of yourself. Think about it. Life is too short to be scared of anything or anyone. Get over it.

If you know what is causing them then what fear of the true do you have? you know the truth already so you said.
You should go see the doctor just to have him/her tell you are right and let him/her give you some new idea's on how to handle it. It you leave it go for to long the attacks will not stay panic attacks. They could grow into something worst and you do not want that.
So go ahead and call your doctor and see what he/she said

You might want to read the new books and workbooks that deal with panic attacks. There are many ideas in these books that help you deal with the attacks. Some mention over-the-counter supplements that can reduce symptoms of panic.
Therapists often provide relief from mental illness symptoms. A good therapist will never try to deal with an issue before a client is ready as the client will run from therapy. A good therapist will build a relationship and show empathy. You could discuss side issues until you are ready to discuss your more important issues. You can tell the therapist that you are having panic attacks but you aren't yet ready to deal with this issue. Dealing with issues will bring relief but it is scary to deal with them. Most therapists are well-trained to wait until the client is ready. You might want to visit a few of them in order to select one that can meet your needs.

Atleast you know what is causing them. I have suffered from anxiety attacks my entire like. Until I was 18 I thought they were going to kill me or that I was dying because I had never been to a Dr. about it. You should seek the help of a professional like right now!

Fear is definitely a strong deterrent from seeking help. People believe that if they don't get a checkup they won't know about something killing them and they'll have peace of mind. Alternatively, knowing what's wrong in advance may let you cure it before it becomes incurable.
It's a tough call.

that is something you need to force yourself to do - or get someone else to force you. you need to get help for yourself. you're not dying, and anything's better than dying. the only way i got help for myself was my mom dragging me out of my bedroom and into the doctor's office b/c i was too scared to leave the house. but i'm thankful she did that b/c i never would have gone on my own.

Your medical condition could be serious. You need to see your doctor asap. Don't be afraid of your condition or even what you think is wrong. You need to go - don't act like you're 3.
