Green is the color worn when we are not within a certain season--Lent, Advent, Easter etc. If it is a Saints feast day the color most representing the Saint is worn then. For instance if the Saint was a Martyr then the vestments are red or if they were known for purity--white. This could happen right in the middle of a season too so you could see a priest wear white one day and green the next.

Because it's not Lent or Advent. Popes and piests wear green vestments for what's called Ordinary Time.
