I'm taking Metforming because I have PCOS. This weekend I was told that it is a form of steroid. Is this true?

Most people take it for Diabetes, but it is also used for Amenorrhoic Patients With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. I haven't read it is a steriod per se but it does affect the steriods you body produces.

metaformin is not a steroid ,,it's mainly use in type 2 diabetics as it decrease blood glucose through it's effect on the liver.it's drug of choice in predaibetics or begaining stage of diabetis however you should be carefull if you have any liver ,cardiac or kidney disease.
I saw some people using it for wieght loss, but i think there is better choices
