I'd do it if God/Allah promised I'd lose 10 pounds, and actually pulled it off! LOL

As the Buddha taught a healthy body is a fitting vessel for a healthy soul. Don't starve in the name of religion.

Fasting in accordance with the Bible is one of the most powerful, eye opening things I have ever done. Spiritual breakthroughs come through fasting.

I think it's some kind of clensing thing. That you need to suffer or something to get close to god. I think the whole preoccupation with suffering is a little wacky myself.
Just live in moderation and be kind and loving to others.

Actually, my son did it a few years ago. He fasted for a month. But, that's beside the point. To him, it was his way of showing God how serious he was about his religion. I was nervous about it, but I trusted him and felt that he had a good reason to do it.

You shouldn't I don't think "Jesus" would want you to endanger your health with fasting. Why would such a self-righteous entity offer himself as a martyr and then want accolades for it?
