They have children up till 45 years old but there are risks in the 40's. If you have no children, now is the time to have one. I was thinking of having another at 40 (I'm 41) but my husband was satisfied with our 1 boy and 1 girl. 38 is not too old.

People get pregnant at 38 and older all the time. It can be more difficult and there is a higher risk of complications as you get older so you should see your doctor regularly. You should also think about your overall health and energy level as children are exhausting. You should also think about what kind of support you have at home and how important your career is to you at this point and whether you are willing to take your time and energy away from working at this point. Ultimately, unless there is a physical problem, it is up to you. Just think about all the implications regarding your life, not what other people say.

No, it's relatively natural as long as your body is healthy and can support the pregnancy. People have had IVF up to age 63. That's taking it a little far, but 38 is fine.

I don't think that it is, however consider that your body is not the same anymore. You need to be healthy, fit to some point, eat well, and have energy to satisfy your husband and time to care for your child. 95% of the time you will be taking care of your child and husband, and 5% for you if you have any time left. Also take into account that when he turns 25 you will be 63. Will his/her future be secure? Will you be able to handle his college expenses, or who will watch over him as he gets older. At 25 he wont be able to take care of you or your husband. He/she wont be settled, barely coming out of college if he/she decides to go.

It's all up to how well you raise your child. If you teach him good moral values, how to respect the public, people of authority, how to respect you as a parent, as well as how to listen to good advise, then you can go for it.... I'm also 38 and I think about it too but in actuality I'm tired. I now want to travel, do the things I love to do for me... It's a big step but if you have the right emotional and financial support, then go for it. God bless, a child is always welcome into the world.

No, absolutely not. It might just be a little harder but go ahead. Just make sure you'll be under the care of a doctor. You should come out just fine.
