I have been reading where a Methodist Church in California married two homosexuals.
Shouldn’t they be teaching their members that this is not right with God?
In USA, church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy and urge governments to recognize same sex marriages. Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children. What, though does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men. Will inherit it god’s kingdom [1cor 6:9,10] Even government officials cover up such conduct.
Are we becoming a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah?

The church has been in bed with the devil for a long time...not sure where you missed it. It's why I do not belong to an organized religion. I am a Christian but I worship, pray and study scripture in my home. No fashion parade, no keeping up with the jones', no hypocrisy. Just Me and God.

Many 'Christian' Denominations are no longer Christian. They call themselves 'Christian' but don't hold to the beliefs that have historically defined Christianity. You sited such an example.

The US is in fact a modern Sodom & Gomorrah. But the Bible says the end will not come unless there is first a 'great falling away' (see 2 Thessalonians 2). I think we're in the process of the great falling away of The Church.

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus

No. We are not becoming. We already ARE a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.

You'll notice that all these churches you are mentioning are currently splitting away from their mother churches.

The US Methodists are splitting from their European council due to "relativity" in teaching and action.

The US Episcopal church has split from Church of England over their "relativity" in teaching and action.

While there is no split yet, we have vast differences between the American Catholic church and the Roman Catholic church. Sadly though your average American Catholic continues to call themselves Roman Catholic - even though they don't follow the basics of Roman Catholicism.

the question becomes are we going to get these people out in the open to help them change,,,a good idea,,,, or are we going to condon amoral practices a bad idea. Do not forget whisperers are on that list of ones who will not be allowed into heaven. We not only allow them to attend chuchs in droves but we do npt call them to account. My thought get hold on the gossips call them to account as stated in the doctrines of accountabilty, and then let the rest know that was an example of what is to come.

So sexually abusing children isn't immoral? "Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children"

As society's understanding of human sexuality changes, so should our treatment of it. I applaud those churches who do not discriminate against those who wish to worship there. If you don't like it... don't attend that church.

Last time i checked this is America and we have freedom to worship what or who we like. As far as other churches not doing what you think is right, they are going to have to answer for themselves when it's all said and done, so are you, so live your life, worry about yourself, say your prayers, and let love rule.

What approximately if anybody stopped killing or hurting one yet another? intercourse is a lot greater ethical than homicide. Me thinks somebody is lacking something of their existence, that they could want to get rid of from the lives of others, to make themselves sense greater desirable. Did I point out you're incorrect with regard to the intercourse ingredient?

I am a Christian mother with a son who is gay...all I know is that I love him and I intend to keep on loving him....because the greatest commandment is love....and all the rest is just controversy that only God knows how to answer.

The ONLY kind of sex that is immoral is the sex involving either children or anyone who didn't want to take part. ANY other kind of sexual intercourse is NOT immoral.

If they condone it, they do not consider it immoral. It's all a matter of definition. People have been picking and choosing what parts of the bible to adhere to for centuries. Do you follow the dietary restrictions in Leviticus?
