Cats sleep for like 60% of the day so this is normal. Unless of course, your poor cat sleeps like for 20 hours.

Generally cats are known for sleeping a lot ... taking cat naps ... and being less active as they get older.

Is you cat an indoors cat? Perhaps she lacks stimulation? Try playing with her ... or buying some new toys. If you really think there is a problem seek professional help, but I'd say it's pretty normal - she's growing and needs her sleep!

From my journey - and that i've got had cats for 26+ years (a lot of diverse mixtures over the years) - i've got chanced on that that is lots much less complicated to introduce a kitten extremely than an person. Cats fairly look to have a tolerance for kittens - like they understand they are discovering - and for this reason a kitten is greater comfortably conventional than an person. you're superb - she's unlikely to like it one bit from the beginning up - yet that does no longer mean she would be in a position to no longer come around. How lively is she? If she's basically 5 i'm assuming she's nevertheless playful some. A kitten might positioned her into her 2d youthful human beings. And - a kitten can not be calm - except it is not healthy - a minimum of i've got on no account properly-known one to be. no longer understanding your cat, that is perplexing to declare what she'd greater comfortably settle for - yet you have have been given a keen sense of her....and that i could guess in case you accompanied your coronary heart - you would be superb on the money. once you pass to opt for a greater robust half for her - take it sluggish - and if achieveable watch the animal with different animals. via all ability do no longer carry domicile one that seems to dominate others....they must be somewhat submissive and "understand their elders". I extra domicile a 12 week previous kitten in December for my 2 300 and sixty 5 days previous male - the two women have been getting bored with him and he become getting somewhat greater agressive with them. So - in comes Ziggy Bob - and that i become fortunate! they are bonded and play and love on one yet another....that is been an extremely reliable journey. In my 26 years of cat possession - it quite is between the excellent ones we've had! in simple terms undergo in ideas - you're a accountable and committed puppy proprietor - in spite of you agree on - you will do what it takes to make it artwork... reliable success and get some sleep - dream of kittens! M.

First off, 5 years is an adult cat. I hope the cat food doesn't say "Kitten" on it! If so, your cat could be getting like twice the calories it needs.

Otherwise, all indoor cats sleep like 16 hours a day. Outdoor cats, much less.

If your cat is active when he is awake and still has an appetite, then I wouldn't worry. If you would ask your vet or read any cat care book, they'll both tell you that a cat sleeps an average of 18 hours a day!

Cats sleep on average 16 hours a day.....or in otherwards, most of their life.

Dont worry-its completely normal. Usually as they get older, they start to slow down even more.

Cats are not like dogs. They require a ton of rest for some reason. So yes, it is normal for your cat to sleep that much. Wait, he is breathing, right?
