I do hate that word "appropriate", its one of those 21st century weasel words that can be interpreted in so many ways but usually relates to SEX.
What is seen to be appropriate in the home is different to school , or on the beach or with Grannie or the local priest. It must be hell for children to appreciate all the subtleties imposed on them from parents ever worried about " what is appropriate".
Talk to your kids, be honest and open, explain that people differ in the way they see things and react.Try and avoid the hang-ups of sex , nudity etc and laugh with your children , let them be happy with their parents. not forever concerned at whether its appropriate!

Not really a question but will reply as it is worth two points and a couple of seconds of my time.
I always behave appropriate in front of any child mine or not and also on here treat them with respect. Do you? As that was not a question more of an order no way to speak to children they are not there to be comanded too repect at all times and you get it back.

Like some of the other people are wondering -is this a statement or a question? Yes one should be careful around children,because they will often immitate you.

i completely understand i told my husband that he was a lazy bugger when my son was about not realising he is 4. Anyway a few days ago we were eating our dinner at the table and our son said daddy was a lazy bugger. I asked him where did he hear this language and he replied you said it mummy. So yes everybody be careful what you say as kids pick everything up.

yes thats correct... like no teaching them bad words and middle finger... sso i agree that we have to be apporpriate at all times... but when we can be like them and play a fool, it would be just nice
