Ah! your flex has broken where it enters the switch housing. To get the switch out you have to put a VERY thin screwdriver or something similar into the hole in the middle of the flat side of the yellow button, when you get the right angle and lever against the latch, the button will pop out, inside is a screw to remove the switch. You may well ruin the button in the process and need a replacement in the end!!

Not 100% sure but I think the switch is similar to most Dyson parts and simply snaps into place.

If this is the case you will find the locking lugs may snap off when you try to remove it, so you will need a new one to refit.

A phone call to Dyson will confirm. The service number will be on your machine.

please go and buy a decent vacuum cleaner... the Dyson's are so flimsy and fall to bits.. hence your question....
